Monica is a resident of Champion City, who works as a waitress at a local diner. She is hit on by a regular at the diner Mr. Furious, but quickly rejects him. Later on, she is working when she sees Roy, upset after a falling out with his team. After allowing him to walk her home, she begins to like him. She convinces him to reconcile with his team. Later on, Mr. Furious meets her at her apartment and tells her that they are going to fight Casanova Frankenstein and he might die. She tries to get him to tell her his real name and after attempting to lie to her, he tells her it's Roy. She kisses him and becomes his girlfriend. She attempts to convince him to be himself, telling him to "Just be Roy", which causes him to have an identity crisis. After Roy leaves, The Disco Boys abduct Monica and bring her to their base of operations to be used as a hostage by their boss, Casanova Frankenstein. When Mr. Furious sees Monica in danger, he gets over his identity crisis and finds the strength to defeat Casanova Frankenstein and rescue Monica. After Casanova is killed, Mr. Furious sends Monica to safety just before the mansion is destroyed. She is standing beside Mr. Furious as news crews arrive and he and his team make their televised debut as superheroes
